TESTIMONIALS

We bought our house a year ago, having lived in a cheaply constructed modern build we wanted something older and built to last. We found it in a 1911 house which had been empty for some time. Unfortunately it turned out to have pretty bad damp issues which the surveyors assured us could be cured with a DPC. Fortunately we found out that a DPC was completely unsuitable for a single skinned wall and worked out we needed a new lime render to replace the cracked concrete affair we'd inherited.

We contacted Welsh Lime and Mark came out promptly to survey and quote. His knowledge of lime based render and how and why it's needed was impressive and his prices were very competitive.

Throughout the work Mark, Ruth and Will were hardworking, friendly and professional. They always cleared up after a days work and never gave us any cause for complaint.

The job they've done is outstanding. Our walls have already dried out loads and the finish outside is excellent.

I am highly recommend Welsh Lime. As an added bonus you may get to meet their awesome dogs Max and Winnie who are now firm friends with our wee woofer Ozzie.

"Extensive cracks and hollow sections in the cement render covering the rear of our 1860s town house meant the render needed to be replaced.  I'd read enough over the years to understand that lime render would be the best option and a discussion with Mark convinced that Welsh Lime know what they're doing with traditional materials.

They've done an excellent job, especially given the time of year - a very wet December - and it's been good to be able to discuss the details of the job and materials. Communication and advice during the job has been excellent. As well as the main rendering work, a lot of good work has been done to repair some of the brickwork and mortar damaged by previous work and water in the walls, and to make good previously botched building work by fitting two window sills using reclaimed stone. The result is a skilled, good looking job using the right materials, also including some thorough repair of cracks on another elevation of the house.  Particular care was also taken in clearing up at the end of each day.

We're very happy with the service from Welsh Lime and would recommend them to anyone wanting work done in this traditional material."

In the last couple of months, Welsh Lime has made substantial improvements to both the interior and the exterior of my house, an Edwardian terraced property in need of renovation. At all times, Mark and his team were exceptionally helpful, courteous and accommodating, and I am delighted with every aspect of their work. It is a huge relief to have found such knowledgeable and reliable conservators, and I plan to book Welsh Lime for further jobs in the near future.

"We are very happy with the work that Mark and his team completed on our house; the work is of a very high standard, and the whole job was carried out considerately and cleanly with excellent communication throughout. The whole team are friendly, thoughtful and polite and always tidied and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of the day. We also felt that Mark went an extra mile in offering very helpful and informed advice to resolve other issues on the property that are likely to be contributing to the problems we were experiencing. We would strongly recommend Welsh Lime as providing high-quality workmanship and excellent customer care."

"Thanks very much for all your work, including your services as impromptu diplomats, delivery men and mail handlers. We're really pleased with the results, both inside and outside."

Mr M. Rogers 4.09.15

"I'm really happy with the work you have done, it looks really smart inside, and outside the gravel and new lime render looks so much nicer than before! Also thanks for the efforts that you went to to keep the house in a clean and tidy state after each day of work."

Miss R. Cripps.  24.02.15

"Outstanding level of workmanship and great customer care. Delighted with the outcome of a renovated fireplace, highly recommended."

Mr D. Clubb 12.02.15

"There was always a certain smell when we came back home. That slight dusky smell that reminds you that there was damp in the house. Well, I am glad to say that when we returned from being away at Christmas there was no such gentle reminder.

The mould that has been growing has been stopped in its tracks. Now, all I need to do is to repaint all the internal areas that have lost their paint / been affected by mould etc."

"Thanks very much for the work you've done on our barn, we're really pleased with it."

Mr W. Hayward 19.12.14

“Having seen the boys from Welsh Lime Works doing a very professional job on my house you realise that that there is no substitute for experience and knowledge. There have been a number of key points in the work where you just know that someone who has just done internal lime plastering would have made some fundamental mistakes.

Welsh Lime Works are keen that their workmanship and knowledge that has been built up over the years is not shared carelessly, so if you want any info I would recommend getting in touch direct with them.”

“All of these key factors require a professional’s eye and years of experience in order to get right. So it has been fascinating seeing the process, the method of application, the changes in mixes, the subtlety in timings etc.”

"We were all (neighbours noticed too!) impressed with your professionalism, punctuality, skill and energy.  Delighted with the work you have done and at an affordable cost.  The limewash gives a beautiful authentic finish to the stonework and allows the wall to breathe.  A shame that it is the rear wall and we can't see it from the garden."

Mr R. Lamb.  30.10.14.

"Thank you for our new wall etc; It all seems great, not that we've sat in the garden yet!"

Mrs J. Davies 20.06.13

"Thanks for all the hard work - it looks really good."

Mr & Mrs P. Jones  15.06.13

"Thank you very much for doing this work for us, and for sorting out the inevitable small issues that arise.  We are very pleased with the work you have done."
